Sending a preset note drill to a student.
One of the most powerful features of Flashnote Derby for teachers is the ability to send your students note drills they can practice at home. When they tap on the e-mail, Flashnote Derby will open with everything set up for them to practice the notes you have specified!
If you have not yet created a teacher account for yourself, see the section on creating a teacher account. It is free, quick, and easy.
- Start by tapping the bookmark icon to open the list of preset drills you have created. If you have not yet created any preset note drills, see the section on creating preset note drills.
- Tap the share icon next to the preset name that you wish to send.
- If prompted, you may choose if you wish Flashnote Derby to have access to the contacts on your device. This information is not shared with anyone and allows you to search easily for student email addresses without having to leave Flashnote Derby.
- Type the email address of the student you wish to send the drill to. If you granted permission for Flashnote Derby to access your contacts, suggestions will pop up as you type. Tap one of the suggestions to auto-fill that user’s email address. Repeat with additional email addresses to send the same drill to multiple students.
- Add an optional message.
- Tap Send. When the student receives the email, they just need to tap on the provided link to open Flashnote Derby on their device and load the notes you have chosen.

Instead of typing an email address, you can just type the name of any connected user on your device.. What’s more, in addition to your student receiving an email, the note drill will automatically be loaded the next time they use the app and they will be informed that they have a new note drill to practice. This will happen without requiring them to tap the link in the email.
See the section on Connecting With Your Students At Home for information on how you can easily send presets, invite students to participate in tournaments, and monitor their at home note-drilling activities.
